Reinoldikirche / church St. Reinoldi
Der Weihnachtsmarkt in Dortmund hat seit gestern geöffnet. Der Baum ist zwar schon fertig, aber noch nicht beleuchtet, die offizielle Eröffnung ist am Montag. Unglaublich, dass es schon wieder so weit ist.
Passend zur Weihnachtszeit waren es heute über 17 °C, ich hatte einen kurzärmeligen Pulli an und habe mir eine schöne dicke und warme Winterjacke gekauft.
Eine Freundin aus Essen war zu Besuch und wir haben schöne Stunden in Dortmund verbracht.

The Christmas market has opened in Dortmund yesterday. The tree is ready but not yet illuminated, the official opening will be on Monday. Actually it's quite unbelievable.

Today the temperature had been an amazing 17 °C and I wore a short sleeved jumper, quite appropriate for this season. I bought a nice and warm winter jacket in town.

A friend from Essen had come to visit and we spent some nice hours in Dortmund.

We now have a pop-up (horrid word, it's becoming all too common in London) Christmas market on Oxford Street. No matter how much we try it can never provide any festive joy that the German ones do! And as for your library, the shad of glass is more encouraging than the brick-walled gaol that's the British Library. Believe me, some of our prisons are more inviting!
