Das scheint dieses Jahr die wichtigste Zahl zu sein. Meine beste Freundin wurde im Januar 50, eine andere Freundin im März, im Mai werde ich 50, der nächste 50. Geburtstag ist im Juni, dann August, dann September und zwei Freunde werden im Dezember 50.

Letzten Samstag waren wir zu einem 50. Geburtstag eingeladen und am nächsten Tag zu einem 40. Glaubt mir, ich konnte den Altersunterschied zwischen den Jahrgängen 1960 und 1970 auf Anhieb erkennen.

Da ist mein eigener 50. Geburtstag schon etwas anderes. Ich hatte geplant, in meiner Heimatstadt zu feiern, zusammen mit ALLEN meinen Familienangehörigen und Verwandten. Jetzt, da der wichtigste und nächste Verwandte fehlt, habe ich alle Feierlichkeiten abgesagt und ich bereue es nicht. Ich möchte an diesem Geburtstag meinen Mann, meine Tochter und meine Eltern um mich haben, und zwar so nah wie möglich. Das ist alles.

Well, this seems to be the most important number this year. My best friend turned 50 in January, another friend in March, it's going to be my 50th birthday in May, the next one is in June, then August, then September and two friends will turn 50 in December.

Last Saturday, we went to a 50th birthday party and the next day, I'd been invited to a 40th birthday celebration. Believe me, I could instantly spot the difference between the generation 1960 and 1970.

For me, my own 50th birthday is going to be a totally different matter. I had planned to celebrate this anniversary in my home town, with ALL of my relatives. Now, one of the most important and closest relatives is missing and I have cancelled all celebrations. I'm glad I have done so. I want to be with my man, my daughter and my parents and I want them as close as possible. That's all.
