Der Schriftsteller William Boyd / The Author William Boyd

Dieser Schriftsteller ist wirklich einzigartig. Vor vielen Jahren habe ich rein zufällig das Buch "Brazzaville Beach" gekauft und seitdem habe ich fast alle seine Bücher gelesen, z.B. "A Good Man in Africa", "Any Human Heart", "Armadillo" und natürlich auch "Restless".


Und jetzt auch "Ordinary Thunderstorms".

Spannend finde ich, dass sich kein Buch von Boyd wie das andere liest, jedes ist einzigartig und überrascht immer wieder aufs Neue. Im neuen Buch "Ordinary Thunderstorms" entscheidet der Klimatologe Adam aufgrund einer Zufallsbegegnung in wenigen Sekunden sein Schicksal und taucht obdach- und mittellos in London unter. Mich hat von Seite zu Seite fasziniert, wie sich Adam durchschlägt und ich konnte es kaum erwarten, das Buch zu Ende zu lesen.

This author is really one of a kind. I bought his book "Brazzaville Beach" by pure chance many years ago and have read most of his other books since, for example "A Good Man in Africa", "Any Human Heart", "Armadillo" and of course "Restless".


And now "Ordinary Thunderstorms".

I think it's extremely exciting that none of his book is like the other ones, each one is unique and full of new surprises. In the new book "Ordinary Thunderstorms" the climatologist Adam loses everything as a result of a chance encounter in London. It was fascinating to read how Adam survives and I could hardly stop reading.
